All Natural Total Body Cleanse Options

By Angela Parker

Having you been having frequent episodes of indigestion? Are you constantly fatigued and your visits to the hospital have failed to identify any obvious cause? It might be the time to consider another option: detoxification. What we eat and drink is broken down to release energy but toxins are also released as byproducts. A buildup of these toxins has a negative impact on our productivity unless regular cleansing is done. We will look at all natural total body cleanse modalities you can consider.

The use of alkaline foods is one of the most popular techniques employed. It involves the use of foods that are considered to be predominantly alkaline. These include raw fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds. Some may be used to prepare juices or smoothies. 3 to 10 days are required for the therapy. Foods that are to be avoided during this period include meat, bread, alcoholic beverages and tobacco.

One of the most vital organs in the body is the liver. Unfortunately, it is this organ that is most susceptible to damage by accumulated toxins. Bitter green herbs and chlorophyll juice (such as dandelion greens) is an effective way of restoring your liver function. Some of the beneficial spices that you can incorporate into your meals include turmeric, cayenne, curry, rosemary and cumin. Scale down on coffee and soda and increase your intake of purified water and apple juice.

Colon cleansing is achieved mainly by use of distilled water. A period of six to seven days is enough to get rid of most of the toxins. During this seven day therapy period eat plenty of fresh, raw vegetables. Mix up the varieties of vegetables for a better flavor and greater nutritional content. If possible, also include whole wheat bread or brown rice. If getting distilled water is a problem, consider aloe vera or raw apple juice.

Candida cleansing is another aspect that should be considered when doing total body cleansing. The first step is to eliminate all the fermented foods and those containing yeast from your diet. Avoid sugary foods (including fruits) as well as natural sweeteners such as raw honey. Other food products to avoid include refined flours, alcoholic drinks, mushrooms and soy sauce. You can reintroduce them gradually after the period of detoxification (usually a week).

Detoxification of heavy toxic metals from the system is quite challenging but very necessary. Many of the metals that gain entry into our systems are contained in our diet or as part of cosmetic products that we use. They include cadmium, mercury and aluminum among others. To increase the ability of your body to get rid of these toxic metals, increase the consumption of foods rich in amino acids, zinc and omega-3 fats.

Cleansing your system and ridding your body of harmful toxins is a process that requires discipline. You may have to put aside some of the delicacies you love enjoying for a certain period of time just to give the system a chance to hit the reset button. At the same time, a change of lifestyle may be required so as to reduce the rate of accumulation of these toxins.

The sauna is a non-dietary option that is also effective. The heat in the sauna serves a number of function. Firstly, it causes sweating which expedites the removal harmful toxins in circulation as well as on the skin. Secondly, it helps to stimulate the metabolic rate in the liver which in turn helps with the excretion of more toxins.
