Remarkable Healthcare System Reform For Better Medical Services

By Anne Kelley

Every country and its government strives to give their people a remarkable medical system. But unfortunately not all countries are as economically viable as the other. Last 2010, the U. S supreme court upheld on of the most revolutionary act related to medical services, The Patient Protection and Affordable Health Care Act. This law paved way for a better healthcare Larchmont service and on any state of the country as well.

Every country and every state strives to provide their people efficient health care. In fact, a country's healthcare system is another way to gauge their economy. Access to medical management certainly varies in every country, individual and group, which is very much influenced by economic and social conditions and most importantly the policies.

Medical management services have three categories namely primary medical service, secondary medical service and tertiary medical service. Availability of medical management services vary across every country and is largely influenced with the country's economic and social conditions. America is said to be a top country that spends a significant part of the country's economy in medical management.

Since 2010, American people were given the advantage of an affordable and accessible medical management services. Indeed, this is an act to improve the medical system of the country. It had been a subject of a heated debate between prominent people in the government and when the decision is released, clearly the people prevailed.

More so it bans medical insurance companies in denying coverage of pre existing disease. The decision to uphold this act benefits over two million uninsured American citizens, and over a million of new yorkers will have access to affordable medical insurance policies as well as medical management and on top of that is ends restriction in pre-existing conditions and keeps the young adults to be part of their parent's coverage plans.

For such reason consumers are encouraged to get their own medical insurance and for once have an easy and affordable access to medical management. There are several medical centers that can help you with your needs. Depending on your condition you could choose a medical center that offers either primary, secondary and tertiary management.

A significant number of people with a preexisting disease have gained coverage as well. Coverage is now more accessible and reasonable in price. Everyone is encouraged to take advantage of such benefit. Find a coverage that is most appropriate to you and your needs and fear not for medical expenses no more. Everyone knows how painful it is to pay for your medical expenses from your own pocket.

However to ensure an efficient management determine the kind of medical service you need and find the appropriate center or place for you to get it. For example if you have painful cough avoid the queue in the emergency room and instead look for a reputable general practitioner. Better yet, visit you community health center and find out how can they help you.

Tertiary medical management usually refers to the management for inpatients. Examples of tertiary services include cancer treatment, plastic surgery, treatment for severe burns or any advanced treatment. To ensure an efficient healthcare Larchmont, determine the type of management that you need and of course, consider only the reputable medical centers.

Yoga for Better Sleep Workshop and Tip

by Nina
Cairns by Nina Zolotow
I don’t teach workshops very often, but when I do, I focus on topics I really care about. My upcoming workshop on Saturday April 6th, 2-5pm at Brentwood Yoga Center focuses on one of my favorite topics: Yoga for Better Sleep. (to register, go to http://brentwoodyogacenter.com/workshops ) This is topic is dear to my heart because, well, it’s something I have to practice myself on a regular basis. Even small amounts of stress can disrupt my ability to fall sleep or to sleep soundly (interestingly, that’s something that seems to run in my family). Fortunately I’ve learned a number of techniques both for reducing my stress levels in general and for lulling myself to sleep while I’m in bed. And my feeling about teaching these techniques to others is that if I’ve helped just one person to achieve better sleep, than I’ve been successful!

I’ve written about this topic in general on the blog (see Day to Night and Yoga for Insomnia, Part 1). But the other night as I was lying in bed not sleeping, I realized that if I had to choose one single technique above all the others, it would be the breath practice I turn to almost automatically these days. And I decided then and there I wanted to share it with you all.

For most of us, what is happening when we’re lying in bed sleepless is that our minds are churning, thinking about the day’s events, ruminating about the past or worrying about the future, which stimulates our nervous systems. Turning our minds to a neutral focus, such as the breath, allows us to let go—at least temporarily—of those disturbing thoughts and helps calm the nervous system, switching on the relaxation response. And in my case, after 10 to 20 minutes of breath practice, I almost always end up drifting back to sleep.

Start by practicing simple breath awareness. This means focusing your mind on how your breath moves in your body, perhaps on how your belly rises and falls with your breath or, if it’s easier, how your chest moves with your breath. You could also focus on the more subtle sensations, such as the feeling of your breath moving in and out or your nostrils or, if you prefer, the sound your breath makes in your body. I actually like to lie on my back with my hands on my  belly because that makes it very easy for me to feel the movement in my abdomen.

For some of you, this simple practice may be enough. For myself, I like to use a more structured technique of extending my exhalation. Extending the exhalation in particular helps calm the nervous system (your heart rate slows on your exhalation) but I also find it engages my mind more completely. To do this, when you reach the end of your exhalation, simply add a beat or two—without straining—before turning on to your inhalation. Keep it relaxed and easy. And if the practice aggravates you, simply return to your natural breath.

If at any point you realize your attention has wandered from your breath (it will, of course), simply—and without self judgment—bring your attention back to your breath.

I confess that, in addition to all that, I also count my breaths. I got the idea from Baxter who showed me a technique using your fingers that he learned when he studied at the Krishnamacharya Yoga Madiram. This really helps me keep my mind engaged, and when I start to really lose track of where I am, that’s when I’m starting to fall asleep. However, this may be, well, too anal for you. (Hey, I’m just trying to be honest about what I really do—and what really works for me.) Basically, you need to experiment and see what works for you. Maybe you’ll even come up with new variations. If whatever you are doing is working, then it’s right for you.

You can do this breath practice every night when you get into bed or just on those nights when you start to realize—it sometimes takes a while catch yourself—that you’re having trouble falling asleep or are wide awake in the middle of the night.

I have more tricks up my sleeve and hope to share them with some of you in person at my April workshop, but in the meantime, if I help just one person.....

Discovering Bob Beck Protocol For Better Health

By Steven Stone

While having been around quite some time, one holistic healing process is now becoming better known. The Bob Beck Protocol is a holistic process that uses a five step program to improve overall health. Through the use of electrotherapy, magnetic therapy, specialized water and a process known as a brain tuner, the protocol stimulates mind, body and soul.

The author uses the motto, Knowledge Is Power to aid individuals in learning more about the process. A process which has been proven over time according to the many testimonials which reside on the company website. For, while Mr. Beck passed on some time ago, the applications, interviews and testimonials continue this work through a number of links on the company website.

First developed in 1983, brain tuning is brought about by the use of cranial electrical stimulation or CES. By applying different frequencies to brain waves, the brain has the capability of resetting itself. When individuals are taking medication, it is always important to check with a primary care giver before using any aspect of the protocol.

While originally developed as a healing tool, it has also been used to aid in overcoming various types of addictive behaviors. In most cases, individuals must use the device a month or longer before seeing results. Still, overcoming addiction, the elimination of brain tumors or the lessening of pain is a great benefit many have never known or received over time.

Users of this protocol come from all areas and social economic levels. While some are hoping to improve over health, others have had negative experiences with regards to traditional medicine. A popular comment overhead by clients is that people have come to realize that each individual is responsible for overall health and well-being.

Now often used in political movements like "Black Lives Matter" and "Take Back The Night, " "Take Back Your Power" is the key message Mr. Beck wants every individual on the planet to hear and understand. Tied closely to the well known motto "Knowledge Is Power, " the two help inspire those working within the company as well as those using the protocol. Whether applying healing methods like massage, Reiki, color and sound healing or others, without belief in the system, it is often rare to see positive results.

As with most alternative and healing applications, users need to believe in the process in order to see results. Although, with so many testimonials, it is clear there is some merit to the methods used by this protocol and others. While Mr. Beck passed some time ago, the protocol, applications, interviews and testimonials will no doubt live on as long as the information can be shared online and through other resources.

There are a number of audio and video cuts currently available online. For those interested in this protocol, there are several links on the company website. Those interested can click on each link to get more information on the overall system and applications along with interviews and testimonials.

Restorative Yoga Better Than Stretching for Reducing Subcutaneous Fat in Overweight Women

by Nina

Just a quick announcement today about some research findings I think you’ll all enjoy learning about. Baxter and I read about a recent study, designed by Maria G. Araneta, PhD, MPH, of the University of California, San Diego, to determine whether obese women lose fat from less intense exercise instead of aerobic activity. Although not a huge study, the groups were larger than most of those we see in recent studies, with the yoga group of 88 having a mean age of 55 years with an average BMI of 36 kg/m2 and the stretch group of 83 having a mean age of 54 years with an average BMI of 32.5 kg/m2.

Along with her co-authors Matthew A. Allison, MD, MPH, Elizabeth Barrett-Connor, MD, and Alka M. Kanaya, MD, Dr. Araneta presented the results at the 73rd Scientific Sessions of the American Diabetes Association in Chicago (June 21-25). And the results showed that the practitioners of restorative yoga lost significantly more subcutaneous fat over the initial six months of the study. They also kept losing subcutaneous fat during a maintenance period when they had less direct supervision. This is important because all the women participating in study had metabolic syndrome. And reducing abdominal fat may help reverse the syndrome.

The Mayo Clinic defines metabolic syndrome as follows:

"Metabolic syndrome is a cluster of conditions — increased blood pressure, a high blood sugar level, excess body fat around the waist and abnormal cholesterol levels — that occur together, increasing your risk of heart disease, stroke and diabetes."

Metabolic syndrome affects 44% of the U.S. population older than age 50.

Although the team is still reviewing the data, they speculated that one explanation for the difference between the effects found with restorative yoga and stretching may be that restorative yoga reduces cortisol levels. As Timothy wrote in his background post Stress, Your Health and Yoga, cortisol levels rise during times of stress and is known to increase abdominal fat. And in Baxter’s post Cortisol and Good Health Baxter wrote about the dangers of prolonged periods of stress and high levels of cortisol. I wrote specifically about the relationship between stress, cortiso,l and weight management in my post Yoga, Stress and Weight Management. So we'll be very interested to see the follow-up studies.

In Baxter's post on cortisol, he actually recommended restorative yoga along with yoga nidra as stress reduction—and cortisol-lowering—solutions. However, meditation (see Starting a Meditation Practice) and supported inversion poses (see All About Supported Inverted Poses) are also helpful. For a complete overview of how to use yoga to switch your nervous system from the Stress Response (Fight or Flight) to the Relaxation Response (Rest and Digest), see The Relaxation Response and Yoga.

In her presentation, Dr. Araneta did not recommend restorative yoga as a replacement for aerobic activity; instead, she said this “complementary” practice could provide a means of gentle movement for severely obese patients for whom other activity is not practical. But as I wrote in Restorative Yoga: An Introduction, restorative yoga is a complementary practice that benefits all of us.

Discover Better Health With Vitamin D3 5000 Supplement Range

By Eve Briner

Vitamins and minerals play an essential role in maintaining healthy function from immune boosters to joint protection and cardiac well-being. Probiotic supplements and vitamin D3 5000 nutritional products can be incorporated on a daily basis as part of a balanced meal plan. A closer look at vitamin D3 reveals its powerful effects in supporting overall long term wellness.

Vitamin D3 is an essential element produced in human skin when exposed to UV light. The use of a supplement can assist in improving overall immunity, bone growth and strength, ease joint stress, and protect against colds and flu. Research has shown that the vitamin D range is important in the maintenance of blood pressure wellness and a suitably balanced meal plan.

Winter months and a lack of exposure to healthy amounts of sunlight can decrease vitamin D3 in the body. Poor nutritional intake can lead to compromised immune function and suffering cold and flu symptoms. Recommended supplements aid in minimizing the severe reactions associated with chronic pain and problems of the gastrointestinal tract.

With the use of the vitamin D3 5000 supplement, adults can improve physical health where poor sun exposure results. It is an important component in buffering degeneration and providing support against gastrointestinal agitation. The vitamins can aid in improving diabetes, hypertension, poor joint mobility, and cardiovascular wellness.

Incorporating balanced supplements must be determined according to the ingredients that are part of its manufacture. This includes a range that does not include an abundance of preservatives, dyes, and harsh additives. Where there is minimal exposure to UV light, it requires the use of vitamin D3 supplements for health maintenance and prevention.

Resilient function and balance requires a quality nutritional intake with the right supplements. Poor sun exposure particularly during the colder months requires the appropriate sources of vitamin D3 to ensure optimum immune operation, to decrease inflammation, and promote hearth health. It is important to consult with a medical professional to determine the appropriate steps that must be taken to improve and support individual wellness needs.

Ways To Improve Yourself And Become A Better Person

It can be quite a challenge to begin a self improvement. There are also a few different things you can focus on. There are lots of approaches personal development to help you can go about bettering yourself. Once you have found how to develop your own self personally, you will begin to look and feel better in a way that will be immediately apparent to others.

Everyone should help others find the way. How can they expect to do their best if this doesn't happen?

Use wisdom and be modest in order to live your approach to life. Learn from the situations that you face each day, and make sure that you recognize what you cannot change about circumstances in your life. Modesty will serve you well. Stress hurts your body as much as a large slice of high calorie pie, so don't get stressed over small things.

Worrying is simply focusing on something that have not actually happened (and most of the time will not happen). As an alternative to worrying, think about what the worse case scenario could be and plan how you would cope with it.

Always be on the look out for new challenges. You could acquire new understanding of the world and develop new skills. You may even want to achieve something that has done before. Try to find your own niche, rather than following in everyone else's tracks.

You should always strive to be the best. Your drive should always lead the way on the path to success. You can't be the best at everything, but we can try to be great. Do what you can to improve yourself in your work, as it will give your self-esteem a boost.

Focus on changing just one issue at any given time. You may want to improve multiple aspects of yourself, even if there are others you also want to address.

You have to choose and consciously decide to work toward it.

Identify what is standing in between you from being successful. This is very hard for many people. If you can successfully remove a few obstacles, you might get a clearer picture of what your future holds.

Everybody has unique skills, which makes the diverse and wonderful planet we live on.

In order to get anything out of this article, you'll need to both absorb and make use of the information given here. Effort is the first step to success. The initial decision to partake in personal development is an achievement in itself.

Swedish Massage And Better Health

Swedish massage often referred to as classic massage is a form of treatment falling into the category of alternative medicine. The benefits of having this type of treatment on a regular basis is a preventative measure to not exposing oneself to more serious and debilitating conditions. It is a form of practice that is often misunderstood as most people who are uninformed about the positive effects it has on health will opt to use traditional medicine instead.

Treatments such as these allow the body recovery time from the strains it is placed under. Factors that increase stress levels range from noise pollution, air pollution and a catch phrase known as stinking thinking. It is when we give ourselves the opportunity to relax and at the same time have those stress deposits massaged away that our immune systems have time to regenerate themselves.

The technique involves kneading and long strokes of the hand called effleurage. The objective is to increase circulation to all parts of the body. In this way the body is able to cleanse itself of waste material because of the increased blood flow.

By having a treatment your focus is naturally drawn away from those thoughts and worries that pervade your life. When a therapist starts to work on a client their natural reaction is to feel what the therapist is doing on a certain part of their body. This immediately draws the attention away from those thoughts we constantly think about.

By clearing up issues or problems we may be experiencing in our lives the brain relaxes and makes room in a sense for other activities. This technique induces the flow of endorphins which are natural pain killers residing in the body. Just as a jogger will run miles to feel the calming effects of these chemicals released into the body this is also achieved through Swedish massage.

By doing this both client and therapist gain an awareness of the problem areas. A client will often inquire as to why he or she is experiencing discomfort in the ankle for example. The ankle area is naturally a joint prone to aches and pains because of the amount of movements it must make. The focus of the therapist will not be on how to solve the question asked by explanation as this could be due to numerous reasons but will manipulate the area to bring about relief.

Aching ankles can be the result of the tightness of shoe you wear. Whether they offer enough support or not. Another reason could be due to water retention. The therapist will address these concerns whilst gaining a better perspective of the clients lifestyle.

Swedish massage is both pleasurable and informative. It is a time to relax and has been in practice for centuries. Eastern countries are far more knowledgeable as opposed to Western countries as to its benefits on mind, body and spirit. It is a means to stay informed of how your body is coping and to give it the time it needs to heal.
